Another thing while I am here, when I see the commercial where Nolan Ryan says you can get his beef in your food, I have a slight feeling of nausea. I really could do just fine without such a vivid description. Frankly if that's what you serve that's fine but to call it "Nolan Ryan beef" in this day and age is simply gross.
We had a lovely experience with the waitress. This place has the most awesome food! I would definitely go here all the time if I had the money to do it
Food qasgood but service was not! Restaurant was only half full. We were the only customers waiting in line and still took 25min for us to get a table. Waiter was nice but very slow to get us what we asked for. The friends we were with commented that service is always slow at this restaurant.
Usually very good but tonight couldn't get waited on in tyler. Waitress came to table next to us twice, knowing no one had been over here. Ends up she was supposed to be taking our table for another waitress who had a big table. Not impressed. Was in the corner table in the bar. They know who we are. After all that, my food came out cold. Manager brought me another plate within like 3 min but I turned it down.
Not 'everyone loves the Jalapeno Tree'. I went in with a group and nothing on the menu looked appetizing, especially with names such as Elvis and James Dean. So I ordered a drink while the others ordered other things and meanwhile, I ate one, maybe two tortillas. When my bill came it was nearly $8. It said "comp setup." I said you're damn right I've been set up. I expected to pay no more than $2.50 for the drink so by my calculation the two tortillas cost what... $2.50, nearly $3 a piece. Watch their commercials, half the people are acting, you can tell they are reading from a script. If "everyone loves" your restaurant then surely you can find someone who can speak without a script. I haven't been back and I don't love it. Really classy, my table spent between $25 and $40 my guess but they're quick to charge me $6 for two tortillas! That say "complimentary" right on the menu!
Love The Jalapeno Tree. Great food at a great price. So much food that I can't eat it all. They make their very own corn tortillas which are to die for.
